How To Plan a Successful Painting Project

1. Get Your Estimate Any Time of the Year

Even though we are unable to paint exteriors during winter, we can schedule exterior estimates all year round. So, if you notice the outside of your home is looking a little dated in the middle of January, don’t hesitate to call us to schedule an appointment to meet with an estimator. We can put you on the books for the following spring or summer.

2. Prepare for the Weather

The biggest obstacle when painting exteriors is weather, and living in St. Louis doesn't make it any easier. Since paint cannot properly dry under 40 degrees, we need to ensure the weather is warm enough, day and night, to be able to paint outside. This prevents the paint from bubbling and peeling in the future. Weather is just as important when staining decks. For the very best results, the temperature needs to be between 50-90 degrees. Knowing information like this can help you plan for exterior projects in the future.    

3. Get the Advice You Need for Colors

4. Move the Furniture With a Plan

When getting multiple rooms painted in a home, the best thing a customer can do is coordinate with their crew leader to decide which room will be first and which will be last. This can help determine which room to start with when moving the furniture and wall decor. By doing this, the crew can be more efficient while they are in your home.

5. Talk To the Crew Leader

Every project we schedule at Kennedy Painting is managed by an assigned crew leader. They become the main contact during the project and help with questions and concerns, and also estimate additional work orders. The last day of the project is the ideal time for having a final walkthrough with the crew leader. We want to ensure that the work is fully completed to both the crew leader's and customer's satisfaction.

6. Let Us Know Your Thoughts!

We give every customer a report card at the end of the project to fill out to let us know how our company did. This is very helpful for our crews and office staff to know what we are doing right and if there is anything we need to work on. Also, this gives us a chance to acknowledge the people who are working hard and making our customers happy!
